This simple privacy policy explains how JobNotes handles your data. We want you to feel secure while using our application.
1. Google Authentication & Account Info
When you choose to sign in with Google, we store basic profile information provided by Google, including your name, email address, and profile picture.
2. Stored Application Data
JobNotes collects the data you explicitly input to provide the career tracking services. This includes: job applications (company name, role, status, dates), notes, follow-up reminders, timeline activities, public Stream posts, comments, replies, reactions, bookmarks, and reported items.
3. Local Mode vs. Cloud Sync
In Local Mode (without logging in), all your application data is stored entirely on your local device (using browser IndexedDB) and does not touch our servers. In Sync Mode (after logging in), your data is securely stored in the JobNotes cloud database to enable multi-device access and backup.
4. Public Stream Content Visibility
Your job application tracker data is strictly private and is NEVER shared publicly. However, any content you post to the Stream community feed is public and visible to other users. We strongly advise against posting sensitive personal information in public Stream updates.
5. No Data Selling
JobNotes does not and will never sell your personal data, job search history, or applications to third parties or advertising networks. Your data is used exclusively to power the application features.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser local storage and cookies strictly to manage user sessions/authentication, remember language toggles, store color theme preferences, and persist local offline app states.
7. Data Deletion & Control
You maintain control over your data. You can delete job applications at any time using the delete features within the app dashboard. Additionally, public Stream posts or comments can be deleted by you, though system administrators reserve the right to moderate or remove reported content that violates our guidelines.
8. Security Measures & Disclaimers
We use standard industry security measures to safeguard your information. However, no system or transmission over the internet is completely flawless or 100% secure. We cannot provide absolute guarantees against security breaches.
